Innova Crysta — Best Choice

High clearance, powerful, comfortable. Our standard vehicle for Sinthan Top tours.

Mahindra Bolero — Best Choice

Purpose-built for J&K mountain roads. Preferred by local drivers.

Fortuner / Thar — Excellent

4WD useful on early-season rough sections.

Swift / Baleno — Not Recommended

Low clearance risks undercarriage damage on rough sections.

🔐 Checkpoints: Anantnag town (routine traffic check) and Daksum village (army/security checkpoint before the mountain road — valid government ID required for all travelers, 5–10 minutes). No permit needed for Indian nationals — only ID verification at Daksum.

Timing Your Drive

Ideal departure: 6:30–7:00 AM from Srinagar. Puts you at the summit by 10:00–10:30 AM, before afternoon cloud build-up, with a return to Srinagar by 6:30–7:00 PM. Latest safe departure: 10:00 AM — leave the summit by 3:00 PM to return before dark. Never drive the Daksum–Summit section after dark without a local guide.

Return Route Options

Via Pahalgam (Recommended Circuit)

From Sinthan Top, descend to Daksum and Kokernag, then continue east toward Pahalgam (~35 km from Kokernag) instead of turning back to Srinagar — a Srinagar → Sinthan Top → Pahalgam circuit covering two of Anantnag district's finest destinations in one trip.

Continue to Kishtwar (Advanced, Multi-Day)

Cross Sinthan Top and descend the Kishtwar side for a trans-Himalayan journey. The Kishtwar face is narrower, steeper and more exposed — requires a skilled local driver and minimum 2 days. Contact us for organized Sinthan Top–Kishtwar circuit packages.
