A high pass above Daksum with snow well into summer. The road is usually open May to October — we drive it every week and know the conditions before you set off.
Sinthan Top guideThis is the route most of our guests take on a first trip. It keeps drives short, avoids doubling back, and saves the quietest place for the end.
Pickup from Srinagar airport. Check in to your hotel or houseboat, then an evening shikara ride on Dal Lake.
Nishat and Shalimar Mughal gardens, Shankaracharya temple, Hazratbal and the old city. Evening free for shopping at Lal Chowk.
About 50 km from Srinagar. Ride the Gulmarg gondola — book tickets online in advance and go early, queues build by mid-morning.
About 80 km along the Sindh river. Walk or take a pony up to Thajiwas glacier. Back in Srinagar by evening.
About 95 km. Stops at the Pampore saffron fields and the Avantipora temple ruins, then the Lidder river into Pahalgam.
Morning in Aru or Betaab valley (local union taxis run these routes), then via Kokernag and Daksum up to the Sinthan Top pass. Overnight in Daksum.
Drive back to Srinagar airport. We time the drive to your flight.

If you're coming by train, we pick you up at Jammu Tawi or Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station and plan the road or rail leg to Srinagar around your timing. A common Jammu Kashmir tour is two days for Katra and Vaishno Devi darshan, a night at Patnitop on the way up, then five or six days in the valley.
During the Amarnath Yatra season we also arrange transport and stays at Pahalgam and Sonamarg (Baltal) for registered yatris. Ask us for the current year's dates before you book flights.

April to June for green meadows and pleasant weather, September to November for clear skies and golden chinar trees, and December to February for snow in Gulmarg and Sonamarg. July and August are green but busier around the Amarnath Yatra.
Six to seven days covers Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam comfortably. Add one or two days for Sinthan Top or Gurez Valley.
Fly into Srinagar airport, which has direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other cities. You can also take a train to Jammu or Katra and continue to Srinagar by road or train. We arrange pickups from Srinagar airport, Jammu and Katra.
